India’s hospitality sector is entering a strong growth phase, with the market estimated at USD 24.23 billion in 2025 and projected to reach USD 45.39 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 13.37%. The expansion is fuelled by rising discretionary spending from a growing middle class, improved nationwide connectivity, and a surge in domestic leisure travel, corporate movement, pilgrimage tourism, and medical tourism. Together, these shifts are broadening demand and creating a more resilient business environment for hotels, resorts, and travel services.

This growth is also being supported by policy interventions. The Union Budget FY26 has earmarked ₹2,541.06 crore (US$ 291.07 million) for tourism development, including the upgrade of 50 major destinations, improved travel facilitation, MUDRA loans for homestays, stronger inter-city connectivity, and expanded e-visa options. These initiatives are enhancing both guest experiences and the overall ecosystem that supports the hospitality value chain.

From an HR standpoint, this transformation brings a renewed focus on talent. The demand for skilled professionals in front-office operations, F&B, housekeeping, culinary roles, revenue management, guest experience, and digital operations continues to rise. Equally important is the growing need for talent comfortable with technology, from contactless check-in systems to dynamic pricing engines and CRM-led personalisation.

As hospitality businesses grow across new geographies, they must build strong pipelines of service-oriented, culturally aligned, and digitally aware professionals. Attracting, training, and retaining these teams will be critical to delivering consistent guest experiences and sustaining competitive advantage in a rapidly expanding, experience-driven marketplace.
